in reply to: Quality manual #753
Hi Marise, happy new year!
We have..we were audited last March by the HTA and they were reasonably complimentary about the standard of our Quality manual including SOP’s, training records, SLA,s etc. I’ll e-mail you some of the relevant files… it has alweays seemed a shame to us here that everyone is constantly re-inventing the wheel with this one…i have spoken with Wendy Birch at length on this and we agree we ought to be getting together to formulate some generic ‘Templates’ at least for SOP’s etc. Our recently formed Professional guidelines and Practices(Anatomy) committee should help in getting this to happen i hope. I’m sure we will chat about his on Friday at Council.

in reply to: Course Fees #728Hi lucie,
The courses we run here in Bristol vary quite a bit from taught courses by our demo’s on prosected material…these are usually aimed at undergrads or related professionals(Chiro’s, Osteopaths, Physios etc). If they are local to us(our deanery etc) we charge a fee of £25 per 3 hour session which includes prosections, hire of room and demo to teach….we insist on a minimum of 8. If they are ‘private’ physios etc we charge £75 for the same.
Surgical courses that we run are costed quite differently…these will use donated bodies specifically allocated to them. We try and get as much use as possible out of each cadaver..this reduces the cost to each course. Obviously we make no money from our donated bodies these are fully costed to include staff time, cremation, preparation etc. We do charge for the hire of the DR per day or half day and again this is FEC’d to cover space costs. Then there are the usual costs on top…catering, consumables, tech staff time(if overtime is incurred). Give me a call if you need to know any other detail.
Cheers,
Steve…
