Institute of

Anatomical Sciences

Prize Winners

Starting with the Spring 1991 meeting the Institute initiated a competition for members to compete for the Dissection Prize. The following year a Museum Prize was initiated and in 1998 a third category, the Open Prize was introduced.

In 2000 our President generously endowed the Dissection Prize with her name and a beautiful glass trophy in perpetuity – the prize to be known as the Marjorie England Dissection Prize.

In 2001 the Fellows sponsored the Museum Prize, henceforth known as the Fellows Museum Prize.

In 2002 the competitions were moved from the Spring Meeting to the Provincial Autumn two-day meeting, giving more time for the exhibits to be judged, and viewed by the audience at the meeting.

In 2010 the IAS Student Dissection category was added to the list of possible prizes. A great opportunity for the budding Anatomists to shine and add to their learning portfolios.
